The FlemKen Bowling Club came to us with a major pain point in that their patrons could not comfortably watch and enjoy a cold drink outside due to the lack of shade on their Western border. They had recently installed some makeshift shade solutions but all had failed in the windy exposed area.
We advised that our Structural Fixed Commercial Umbrella range was the right fit in this case. Our fixed PVC commercial grade umbrellas are all engineered to suit our clients specific requirements. Being in such an exposed area next to parkland we thought it was appropriate to toughen up the umbrella steel to suit.
The bowling club ordered three umbrellas 3.2m x 3.2m square with a clearance height of 2.2m. The PVC canopies were Polyplan 680, a highly suitable PVC for this scenario. The umbrellas are fixed and highly durable in hazardous weather conditions. Custom footings were concreted in to ensure the umbrellas would be sustainable and the bowling club would be able to maximise use of the outdoor area.
The outcome was an impressive outdoor area with ample shade and protection from adverse weather. We thank FlemKen Bowling Club for trusting us with this project and hope their patrons now enjoy their drinks in comfort.
