Maintenance
Aluxor Sundream Awnings are an aesthetically pleasing product and add an elegant yet functional finish to any outdoor space. Please follow these steps to maintain the quality and integrity of your awning:
- Carry out regular checks on the structure- conduct periodic inspections of your external awnings to check for signs of wear, damage or malfunction.
- Check your structure after a major wind or weather event- It is particularly important to check your external awning and the surrounding fixtures after any major wind event including storms.
- Fully retract your awnings ahead of strong wind events- leaving your awning out in windy conditions leaves them more vulnerable to damage and malfunction. Ensure they are fully retracted in these turbulent conditions.
- Cutback overhanging trees and branches- tree debris can cause damage to your awning and should be trimmed back.
- Clean your awnings once a month- after brushing off any dust or debris with a soft-bristled brush, use a mild detergent (appropriate for the fabric) to gently wipe the fabric and rinse with fresh water. Wipe dry with a soft lint-free cloth or sponge. It is best to conduct cleaning on a hot day so the awnings material can dry naturally. Allow to dry completely before retracting.
- Lubricate the working parts as required- use silicone spray on the side channels as needed to maintain the smooth performance of your motorised blind,
