Since 2007, Structures by Design has been designing, manufacturing and installing premium outdoor shade and operable roofing solutions across Melbourne and Australia.

Structures by Design (Australia) & LouvreLux are designers, manufacturers, and installers of high-quality specialised outdoor shade and opening roof system products.

We specialise in architectural shade sails, tension membrane structures, louvre roofs, retractable roofs and custom shade structures for commercial and residential projects. Every project is tailored to its site, combining considered design, quality materials and expert installation.

Founded by Director Sam Conlan, Structures by Design is backed by more than 20 years of building and construction experience. Before establishing the business, Sam worked with one of Australia’s leading commercial builders, delivering major developments throughout Melbourne’s CBD. He holds a degree in Construction Management from RMIT University and is a Registered Building Practitioner.

Today, Structures by Design and Louvre Lux work alongside builders, architects, designers, hospitality operators and homeowners to deliver projects from concept and design through to manufacture and installation.

Structures by Design (Australia) Pty Ltd combine quality sourced materials, from home and abroad, with expert knowledge and design to create perfect outdoor shading and opening roofing solutions residentially and commercially. We have been in operation since 2007 growing year on year with our Director having worked and studied in the Building industry for 20 years.

Structures By Design & Louvre Lux are designers, manufacturers and installers of high quality specialised outdoor shade products. Our range includes architectural shade sails, tension membrane structures, umbrellas, shade canopy structures, clear and pvc mesh cafe blinds, louvre and retractable roofs. All our projects are custom designed to suit the customers needs whilst always using the highest quality materials. We believe our products and services are a benchmark in the current shade market.

Before starting one of Australia’s premier outdoor structure businesses, Structures by Design Director Sam Conlan gained extensive experience working in a high-level position at one of Australia’s top tier Commercial Builders. He worked on and delivered an array of premium developments throughout the Melbourne CBD. With this backing Sam has built this business to be one of the leaders in the current shade market across Australia. Sam has an RMIT University degree in Construction Management and is a qualified Registered Builder Commercially & Domesically in Shade Structures. All Structures By Design staff are specifically developed and trained to deliver each and every project on time and on budget.
